This training will help participants create: A Trauma Informed Court System by Focusing Hearings on the Specialized Need of Children Birth to Five and their Parents. Participants will learn how and why an Alternative Dispute Resolution tool, the Pre-Hearing Conference, helps foster a solution-seeking atmosphere prior to the Protective Custody Hearing. Participants will learn critical questions that must be discussed and the key judicial decisions that must be made on day one through the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judge's newly published Enhanced Resource Guidelines.  We will consider and discuss case scenarios.

Our goal is to learn the best practice in improving the well-being and permanency outcomes for our most vulnerable children in foster care while at the same time offering their parents a fair chance to rehabilitate and reunify through reasonable efforts services.

Who should attend? All individuals with a stake in the child welfare system, including but not limited to judges, attorneys, caseworkers, early childhood providers, visiting nurses, foster parents, medical and service providers, CASA, FCO and mediators.

Remember: A Court does not have to be a boutique or specialized court in order to help the lives of Babies and their Parents from the Bench!
